Since I watched the first youtube landscape photography vlog style videos, I thought about creating my own videos. Over the years many ideas grew in me, especially about which content I would like to show. I took many videos the past years, but never spend enough time filming and never dedicated enough time on the editing.
When in autumn of 2024 the chance came up, I finally decided to give it a go.
The main focus and the message I want to bring across is about the experience I had when I was out hiking, enjoying nature and taking photos. Focusing on small details and on the larger picture. Emphasizing the visual impressions that I had and especially the sounds of nature. My intention is to make the video about nature and not about me.
Finally, I managed to put together a small video. After deciding on which video editing program, I wanted to use, there was a lot to learn for me. While I was out on this trip, I took far more videos than the ones which actually made it into the video. Some just did not work, others had poor quality and some just did not add any value to the viewing experience.
In this video I share some impressions and my experience while I was on a 4-day solo hike. I was inspired by long distance hikes in the US and in Scandinavia. These long-distance hikes require a lot of planning, a lot of free time, physical and mental strength. This 4-day hike close to where I live, was a good chance to get a small glimpse into how these long distant hikes might feel. In terms of the natural and mental experience, but also how my body would cope with the physical impact. Each day on this hike had an average of 22 km distance and paired with the heavy backpack; it was quite a challenge.
This video is about nature, hiking, getting a mental break from daily life, landscape photography and hopefully a joyful viewing experience.
