About me

german based landscape photographer Felix Stensitzky
I was born in Nuremberg in 1987 and lived a large part of my childhood in Saudi Arabia. I have been living in Troisdorf between Cologne and Bonn since the end of the 90s.
I have been working intensively with photography since 2014. It all started when my father gave me a Nikon P7100 as a present. One reason why I was given this camera was certainly that I was annoyed by the poor image quality at a graduation ceremony. At the time, this camera was arguably the flagship of the Nikon compact cameras. It allowed full manual control of all settings and it was also possible to take pictures in RAW format. So I dealt more and more with things like: "Shutter speed", "Aperture", "ISO", etc.

Soon after, photography became indispensable. I got my first digital SLR camera relatively quickly.

At the beginning I dealt with all kinds of motives. Whatever came in front of the camera. But very soon my passion for landscape photography developed. I started taking photos after completing my first part-time degree. Suddenly there was much more time and of course it wanted to be used sensibly. At the same time, there was the opportunity to travel to many destinations for the first time. Traveling and photography went hand in hand. Both started around the same time and of course both complement each other in a very special way. So the urge to capture the landscapes of our earth solidified in me.

On various vacation trips I was able to photograph some of the most spectacular landscapes on earth. I present some of these pictures in my Portfolio .

For me, landscape photography is a calming balance to my everyday professional life. I deny this as an engineer in the automotive industry. Everyday professional life is often characterized by hectic pace, tight deadlines and meetings. That's why I particularly enjoy the silence in nature. Photography is therefore a hobby for me and not my main source of income.

I especially like the landscapes in the north of Europe and in North America. Since I can't always be there, I often take photos in the Rhineland, my home. Here I hang around mostly in the "Wahner Heide", in the area of the lower Sieg and in various forests.

I take all of my pictures in RAW format, which makes it imperative to develop / edit the pictures on the computer. In doing so, I always make sure not to alienate landscapes and reproduce them as I perceived them at the time of the photo.

Since I've been photographing landscapes, my connection to nature has grown bigger and bigger. Thus, the preservation and protection of our nature has become particularly important to me. Landscape photographers have a very special responsibility when it comes to nature conservation. On the one hand, there are pictures of our nature that show people how beautiful and worthy of protection it is. On the other hand, it is also these images that make people want to travel to these places (including me). If these people do not behave responsibly in nature, the destruction of our nature is inevitable. That's why I've been a member of the "Nature First" alliance since 2019.
